Priorities
At all times, children with special needs receive priority
for services. When applications are reviewed and prioritized,
children with special needs and families with very low income,
including TANF recipients, are considered for services first,
before families who have children with no special needs.
Additional priority for child care services is applied as follows:
- working parents
- parents in
vocational training programs
- parents in
education programs
Selection of Child Care Provider/Use
of Child Care Certificate
The concept of the CIMC CCDBG Program is parental choice. This
means that, to the greatest extent possible, the parent has
the choice of child care provider.
Other Program Activities
Portions of the CCDBG monies must be used for improving the
quality of child care services. Quality improvements include
resource and referral, training and technical assistance, comprehensive
consumer education, and monitoring activities (compliance with
licensing or
health and safety requirements).
